Previously in West Kent...

We aim to make this an effective resource for local members (both active and not-so-active); to tell you what is planned, show  what we’ve been doing (with photos!); and provide useful links to other relevant sites. The area tries to cover the  TN1 to TN22 postal districts. We also list events in some other parts of Kent.

  What kind of thing do we do?

As well as indulging in meals in English, Indian and Mexican restaurants, West Kent Mensans have taken part in a diverse range of activities this year. For those of a sporting nature, we have tried our hand at curling, bowling, bat’n’trap, petanque and croquet – thank you, Denzil and Janis. Those having a moderately competitive streak enjoyed a games evening and a ‘Brain of Orpington’ quiz courtesy of Tony whilst those of a seriously competitive disposition took a masochistic delight in fathoming out the clues at Denzil, Jane and Janis’s Treasure Hunt around Westerham on a damp evening. A visit to Chislehurst Caves on Easter Saturday attracted a record number anxious to escape the Bank Holiday weather and Frankie and Tony entertained us at their barbeques during the summer. We still have to look forward to a day trip to Boulogne, English, Thai and Italian meals and a games evening courtesy of Steve prior to our Christmas meal.

In order to make life simpler, we try to put the main monthly event on the 22^nd of each month, but it doesn't always happen! However, we aim to have events on a variety of days and times, so that most people can make events at some time. We do slot other things in between, so watch this web site!
